What to Expect
Estimate
After a walk-thru of the project, the client will be given an approximate date for receiving an estimate. This estimate can be broken down by labor and materials and/or by surface being addressed (e.g. doors, siding, trim, etc.) with a clearly defined process and scope for each area/segment of project. This estimate will then be emailed to the customer for review.
Signed Contract
After agreement has been reached on the estimated cost and job parameters, a contract will be generated by Free Bird Painting LLC and emailed to the customer for review. The contract will detail the estimated price; approximate work schedule; a payment schedule; the scope and process designated for each aspect of the project; and a breakdown of contractor and client responsibilities. At the time the contract is signed a 10-20% down payment will be required of the client.

When Plans Evolve
As they say, expect the unexpected. An estimate is based on what is reasonably observed on a walk-thru. Project scope may change as the project progresses; this might be in the form of discovering deteriorating wood, caulk, plaster/drywall cracks, or greater failure of previous coatings than anticipated. Any increase in labor will be discussed with the client to achieve an agreed upon resolution and cost. Delays may occur due to weather, other professional obligations, or life events. Free Bird Painting LLC will make every effort to minimize disruption to a project once it has begun.
Understanding Cost
Nobody wants to overpay for services and many people look at painting projects as simply the time required to apply the product. The reality is that significant time is required to complete a paint project beginning to end, such as:
Obtaining materials; preparing worksites by taping off areas, installing plastic protection over objects, floors, walls, flowerbeds, shrubs, etc.; navigating around client belongings/décor; removing and reinstalling light/bath fixtures, window treatments, outlet covers, décor; etc.; scraping; caulking; patching; washing surfaces; sanding; priming; cleaning of equipment; site cleaning during and after project; and yes, the actual painting or staining!
